Free State Cheetahs captain Juan Smith returns to the side for Friday's Currie Cup rugby match against Griquas in Bloemfontein.

He takes the place of flank Francois Uys who moves to lock in the place of the injured Izak van der Westhuizen.

Free State: Hennie Daniller, Philip Snyman, Robert Ebersohn, Meyer Bosman, Jongi Nokwe, Louis Strydom, Tewis de Bruyn, Ashley Johnson, Juan Smith (capt), Hendro Scholtz, Waltie Vermeulen, Francois Uys, WP Nel, Skipper Badenhorst, Coenie Oosthuizen.

Replacements: Pieter-Willem van Vuuren, Kobus Calldo, Barend Pieterse, Kabamba Floors, Tertius Carse, Corné Uys, Sias Ebersohn.
