The Stormers are hoping that versatile prop JC Kritzinger will be in the squad to face the Bulls at Orlando Stadium in Soweto on Saturday in the Super 14 final.

The impressive youngster has missed the last four games due to a calf injury which he sustained during the 16-13 loss to the Reds.

Stormers coach Allister Coetzee told reporters on Monday that Kritzinger will undergo a fitness test on Tuesday to assess his availability for the Super 14 final. "We will consider JC for the final, but then he need to prove his fitness."

The coach added Kritzinger will definitely be considered if he passes the fitness test. If he does pass his fitness test, Argentinean Eusebio Guinazu will be making way for Kritzinger on the bench.

Coetzee on Saturday night admitted the Waratahs put them under pressure at scrum time and referee Mark Lawrence penalised the home side a number of times for transgressions in the scrum.

"The Waratahs put us under pressure at scrum time. You never practice a reset scrum. You start again and that took a lot of energy out of the pack," Coetzee said on the Stormers site..

"I would want to look at the scrums again and the number of resets, because that is not something we want to do. Resets sap a lot of energy," he added.

After analysing the match footage, Coetzee on Monday said the Stormers won't be making the same mistakes that led to several penalties. He stated in some cases the Waratahs got the better of them through sheer gamesmanship.

"In some instances we could have done better. In other instances, they got the hit and then took us to ground, which they must have practiced doing in order to tire us out. I don't know why we would take our own scrum down on attack.

"We will make the necessary adjustments and I still have to talk to Mark Lawrence. It's not going to be easy against what is a very good Bulls scrummaging pack."
