Bayonne have confirmed that Stormers fullback Joe Pietersen has signed with the club.
The Club released a statement on their site saying that he is a "utility back" and can moved around the back line but also said that he can cover as a "small forward".
Twenty five year old Pietersen has been with Western Province and the Stormers for five seasons and has also featured in the South African Sevens team.
Bayonne club president, Francis Salagoïty, announced three other signings.
The club’s official website also announced that French duo Julien Audy and Abdelatif Boutaty as well as former Reds player Cameron Treloar will join the side.
Bayonne finished second-last in the Top 14 this season and only avoided relegation due to 12th-placed Montauban’s financial problems.
Pietersen returned from a six-week injury layoff against the Sharks on Saturday.
