Saracens sealed the final round of regular round matches with an impressive 32-23 victory over Guinness Premiership leaders Leicester Tigers at Welford Road on Saturday afternoon.
The visitors drew first-blood just two minutes after the start as Glen Jackson sent his penalty-kick between the posts before firing another one home four minutes later.
The Tigers were quick to react though and Jeremy Staunton got them on the board with a penalty, and Alesana Tuilagi grabbed the game’s first try 10 minutes in, and Staunton made no mistake with the conversion before adding another penalty.
Sarries looked to bounce back though and were soon on top as Jackson’s boot fired a penalty kick and conversion either side of Chris Wyles’ 25th minutes try.
The visitors picked up in the second-half where they left off in the first, and Schalk Brits grabbed a 43rd minute try, and Jackson again proved accurate with the conversion.
Soon after though and the Tigers were right back in it as Marcos Ayerza crossed the line in the 56th minute, and Staunton had no problem with the conversion.
But Jackson soon added his fourth and fifth penalty-kicks of the afternoon 12 minutes from time, and Derick Hougaard slipped home a penalty just two minutes after coming onto the field.
