Rugby World Cup organising committee chairman Jock Hobbs, who is also chairman of the New Zealand Rugby Union, stepped down from both roles Friday for health reasons. Hobbs has been diagnosed with a form of leukaemia which now requires treatment, New Zealand Rugby Union chief executive Steve Tew said. "Jock and his family have asked that we respect their privacy at this difficult time." Hobbs played 21 Tests for the All Blacks, including four as captain between 1983 and 1986.
