The Scarlets beat European champions Leinster 18-16 in the teams' Celtic League opener on Saturday.
The Welsh regional side were on the backfoot in front of their home crowd at the Parc y Scarlets but kept in touch against the Irish province through tries from Sean Lamont and Phil John before Rhys Priestland put them in front with a penalty nine minutes from the end of normal time.
Leinster, without six British and Irish Lions, including Ireland Grand Slam winning captain Brian O'Driscoll, dominated the bulk of possession and territory after falling behind in the early stages.
New Scarlets signing Lamont scored the Welsh giants first try of the campaign after six minutes, the Scotland wing scoring in style after evading four would-be tacklers. Priestland converted and the Scarlets were 7-0 up.
But Jonathan Sexton, whose composure with the boot was a key factor in Leinster's European Cup final win over Leicester, got the visitors on the scoreboard with a 13th minute penalty before Ireland's Girvan Dempsey went in for a try in the right corner.
A pair of Sexton penalties stretched Leinster's lead to 16-7, the second coming after Richie Pugh was yellow-carded for infringing at a ruck.
And four minutes later the Scarlets were down to 13 men after Rhys Thomas was sent to the sin-bin for dangerous play before a Priestland penalty cut Leinster's half-time lead to 16-10.
The Irish side thought they'd gone further ahead 12 minutes into the second period when Shane Jennings seemed to get the ball down on the line only for the TV match official to deny Leinster a score.
However, there was no doubt when, replacement prop John went in for a try after good work by Jonathan Davies and Mark Jones.
Another Priestland penalty then nudged the Scarlets in front and they hung on despite eight minutes of injury time.
