The Anglo-Welsh Cup is now known as the LV= Cup due to sponsorship reasons and is a 16-team competition involving the 12 Guinness Premiership clubs and 4 Welsh regions.
LV= is formerly Liverpool Victoria, has signed an initial two-year deal for the LV= Cup, with an option to renew for a further two years. is already involved in rugby as sponsor of Twickenham-based Harlequins Rugby Union Club. LV= is an insurance and pensions group. LV= has 3.6m customers and employs over 3,800 people.
* The Anglo Welsh Cup is played in four pools of four with three Guinness Premiership clubs and one Welsh Region in each pool.
* If the winner of the Anglo Welsh Cup competition is an English club, they will qualify for the following season's Heineken Cup.
EDF Energy announced it was dropping its title sponsorship of the tournament in July to concentrate on its partnership with the London 2012 Olympics.
